Dr. Shaan Patel, MD, MBA is the Founder & CEO of Prep Expert, winner of a Shark Tank investment deal with billionaire Mark Cuban, a bestselling author, received his MD/MBA from Yale and USC, and a board-certified dermatologist physician. Dr. Patel raised his own SAT score 640 points from average to perfect when he was in high school. He has now developed SAT & ACT prep curriculum and courses that have helped over 100,000 students improve their own scores, get into top universities, and win over $100 million in college scholarships!

Vishnu Bharadwaaj is a student at Rutgers University–New Brunswick majoring in Finance and Biological Sciences. He scored a 1590 on the SAT and was recognized as a U.S. Presidential Scholars Program candidate and a USA Biology Olympiad semifinalist. Vishnu earned scores of 5 on AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP English Language, among other AP exams. Through tutoring, mentoring, and leadership experiences, he has developed a teaching style that is patient, clear, and adaptable to each student's needs. He enjoys helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and develop effective test-taking and study strategies. In his free time, Vishnu enjoys playing basketball, hiking, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Vishnu is generally available on weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as weekends, and is located in Eastern Time.

Miguel Chavira attended UT Austin, where he earned a BS in Computer Science and a BA English as well as a TEFL Certificate. Miguel has accumulated five years of tutoring experience across a number of organizations, giving him insight into a wide variety of strategies and advice. He can tutor any of the following subjects: ACT, SAT, PSAT, (undergraduate & AP) Computer Science, (AP) Biology, AP Calculus (A, B, C), (AP) Macro & Micro Economics, (AP) English (Language & Literature), ESL, any high school math, (AP) Physics, Spanish 1 & 2, AP Statistics, and essay writing & composition. As for teaching style, Miguel encourages honest self-reflection and provides realistic feedback and goals, advising students towards more optimal methods but coaxing them toward taking charge of their learning and progress. Flexibility is also used in tutoring programs, via a willingness to share and look into multiple strategies and perspectives to match individual students' needs. Taylor Trautwein is currently attending the University of California Irvine pursuing a Bachelor of Science on a pre-law track. She plans on graduating within three years due to the credit received from passing eleven AP and seven IB exams. Following undergraduate school, she plans to achieve her paralegal certification from UCI and eventually attend law school. In addition, she scored a 1530 on her SAT, placing her in the 99th percentile rank. Taylor has worked in many fields academically and is even a published poet. She has also won awards in several fields at the state and district levels in competitions such as National History Day and the Mu Alpha Theta state convention. In her free time, Taylor enjoys figure skating, skiing, reading, and spending time with her sorority sisters. She takes an empathetic approach to teaching: she aids the learning process while understanding that not all students learn at the same pace. Taylor takes an approach with students that places them on her level, forming a more peer-based relationship where any question can be asked to ensure the student’s success. Taylor mostly operates in the pacific standard time zone but occasionally moves to the eastern standard time zone when visiting family in her hometown of Tampa, Florida. She tries to be as flexible as possible with her availability and is primarily available every day at night and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the day.

Calvin Zhang is a college undergraduate studying Computer Science at UC Irvine, graduating 2 years early thanks to credit received from 15 AP tests and community college dual enrollment courses. He scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, and earned National Merit Finalist status. Having tutored throughout high school, Calvin tutors best through examples and visualization of problems, and has a passion for anything math-related. In his free time, he enjoys hiking or working on programming projects. Calvin is typically available Monday, Wednesday, Friday evenings and weekends, and is located in Pacific Time.

Shivang Giri is a student at Emory University studying Finance and Computer Science. He scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT in both English and Math and earned 5s on AP Language, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Physics, and AP U.S. History. Shivang enjoys helping students break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while building confidence in their academic abilities. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing golf, following New York sports teams, and spending time outdoors. He is generally available Monday and Wednesday mornings and weeknights, Tuesday and Thursday weeknights, and all day Friday through Sunday, and is located in the Eastern Time Zone.

Ethan Moy graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. He scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT and ACT tests, with perfect AP scores in Chemistry, Human Geography, and others. He also holds an IB Diploma with a final score of 40/45, including a perfect score in IBSL Math and IBHL Economics. Ethan has worked as a tutor for 2 years and has taught English abroad, developing a passion for teaching and an open communication style tailored to each student that encourages deeper thinking and questioning. In his free time, he loves trying new foods, going to baseball games, and travel blogging. Ethan is generally available weekday nights and Saturday afternoons and is located in Pacific Time.

[p]Hello! My name is Dr. Kevin Parrish, and I'm excited to be your Prep Expert instructor! I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2025 with my PhD in Physics. During my time there, my focus of study was on computational material science, specifically on amorphous glass. I also branched out and did some climate science work on machine learning models applied to streamflow in the Colorado River. Throughout it all though, I never stopped teaching at Prep Expert![/p] [p]I've been an instructor here for 8 years now, beginning when I was just a freshman in college. Over that time, I've come to love our students and our courses, which is why I chose to continue teaching here after my doctoral program. I scored a 1570 on my SAT and a 35 on my ACT. On top of that, I also passed more AP tests than any other male student in the state of Nevada by my high school graduation in 2016, a total of 15, earning myself the prestigious State AP Scholar award for that year![/p] [p]My passions outside of Prep Expert include practicing on my piano and playing pickleball, but, most of the time, I find myself just cultivating my curiosities and learning about whatever new things pique my interest![/p]

Isabella scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, ACT, and PSAT, and used those accomplishments to earn a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Dallas, where she later completed her MBA. As a core member of the Prep Expert team, she brings deep expertise in curriculum strategy, academic goal-setting, and standardized test preparation. She understands the complexities of navigating academic systems and is committed to providing clear, personalized guidance that empowers students to reach their full potential. Her coaching style blends high expectations with positive reinforcement, consistent practice, and a deep belief in every student's ability to grow. Ilia is a top 1% SAT scorer; he graduated Magna Cum Laude and has taught university- level subjects for English and Linguistics majors, as well as SAT and ACT prep classes for high- school students. He has a PhD in Linguistics. Working part-time in a non-profit for a number of years, he has supervised research projects and worked on content creation. His passion is to see students master the subject they study and experience their “aha” moments.

Shreya Ambekar is a student at UNC Chapel Hill majoring in neuroscience on the pre-med track. She scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, including a perfect math score on the first attempt, and earned a 5 on seven different AP exams. With over 7 years of extensive teaching experience, including co-founding a nonprofit and tutoring for the CollegeBoard and PrepExpert, Shreya is passionate about helping students master both content and test-taking strategy while also instilling a love for learning in them. Shreya is located in Eastern Time, and is generally available weekday evenings/nights and weekend mornings/afternoons.
