My instructor was Ilia Kolmagorov and he was absolutely amazing. He was very engaging and captivating and was great at conveying the information. His tactics such as refocusing exercises, and using humor to help with memorization were very effective. So far my PSAT score has improved by 190 points with one more practice test to go. Aside from Mr. Kolmagorov’s own teaching methods, the content taught in the course was extremely helpful. There are numerous strategies that I have now fully adopted to my test taking skill set for the SAT or for other school tests. Strategies like BOSS (where you build your own solution to the problem), and types of words to look out for are incredibly useful. Additionally, the Hard Math Quizzes were very assistive in being ready for tricky questions and getting used to difficult math. I’m am definitely more of a math person so I really liked the math strategies but still am very grateful for the reading and writing one as well. The 50 different strategies we were taught helped me greatly improve my score for those sections. I would definitely say that this course is worth it and I am very thankful for the help it provided me.

Ilia was great throughout the entire course. He made us all laugh with his jokes and amicable personality. (The signature different colored collared shirt such as peach and lemon sorbet always brought smiles to all of our faces when we joined the class). Academically, furthermore, Ilia explained each and every Prep-Expert strategy with such precision. He would wait and make sure that each and every person in the class fully understood the topic at hand before moving on (even though there were about 50 of us). It provides various helpful kinds of material including Shaan Patel's books, linear non-timed modules, timed practice tests (that are adaptive and as hard as the actual college board SAT), and hard math quizzes. All of these things make it so that no matter what you are looking for, Prep Expert will help you improve. I learned so many strategies from this course and I think it taught me exactly how to think when solving SAT problems. The instructor was genuinely really funny and enjoyable. I was very lucky to have my instructor be Ilia Kolmagorov for the 6-week course. Before taking this course, I was struggling with understanding what I should study to improve my score. I was very anxious because on the internet everyone tells yo to do something different. Upon enrolling in this course, the first thing I noticed was how my instructor did a good job of keeping everyone engaged. He would crack jokes and make it more of a fun thing to look forward to. The course overall is very well structured and having due dates made it easier for me to plan my studying for the week. I have noticed the biggest improvement in my reading and writing score due to the stratergies provided throughout the course. When I took the full length adaptive test after the first full week of courses, I was pleasently suprised that my score was already higher than any score I had gotten taken the PSAT. It was a big confident boost that helped drive me to continue to work hard in this course.
