Video: High School Does Not Prep You For the SAT

In this video, I explain why high school does not prepare you for the SAT. We often have parents call us at 2400 Expert and say the following:
“My daughter Susie gets straight A’s in her math and English classes, but she scores below average on the SAT Reading, Math, and Writing sections. We don’t understand what’s going on.”
This is certainly frustrating for both the parent and the child. However, the problem is that you can be a rockstar in high school, but subpar on standardized exams. You must prepare for standardized exams outside of what you learn in the high school classroom. Just because you do well in high school, doesn’t mean you will do well on the SAT.
