Sending Out Your SAT Score Reports

Pick Schools During Test Sign-Up

During test date registration, you can request four scores to go out to specific schools as soon as they’re available.

You have from registration up to 9 days after taking the test to select your four choices. The College Board automatically forwards your score reports to those schools.

The best part is that those four reports are sent for free. You aren’t required to spend any money.

Send Score Reports After The Initial Free Window

You can still send SAT score reports after the 9-day window.

The only problem is now you will be charged money to send them out. The College Board charges a $12 fee per score report you request. However, there is a catch.

If you don’t want to pay those fees then it’s possible to request an SAT fee waiver. You have to qualify for one though, so take a moment to check out our SAT Fee Waiver Guide article for more information.

SAT Rush Orders

This is your last-chance option.

Have a new school to add to your application list? Already used up your free reports and they need it immediately? Don’t worry, you can still send a score report out. But again, expect to pay more money for the service.

The College Board will also handle SAT rush order requests to schools, as long as you provide the information. As far as delivery goes, expect the school to receives the reports within 2 to 4 business days.

Remember, every extra report you send out there costs money. If you’re looking to apply to tons of schools, those fees add up fast. Make sure you know exactly where you want to take your chances application-wise.
